INSPIRING Children to Sew.
Hi, welcome to a world of sewing with and for Little People. I'm Emma and I have two of my own, who (so far) are more than willing to let me share my passion with them. I hope this space will help you share your passion for sewing and creating with the Little People in your world - children, grandchildren, family, friends, students ......
Here you will find inspiration, tutorials, book reviews and patterns to sew with and for those Little People.
We live in a world today where is it too easy to consume. If we have an appreciation of where something comes from, I believe we will consume more responsibly. And this, I believe, we should share with the next generation. But please don't be alarmed! I'm not going to be preaching, getting 'hippy' or even evangelical about anything - I just think children should learn where things come from and how things are made. This is just a little space where you can get some ideas to share.
What about me? I have been sewing for as long as I can remember - I was bitten (quite literally!) by the 'bug' young. One of my first memories of sewing was stitching across the top of my thumb while trying to use my mother's sewing machine. Painful to say the least, but not enough to deter me. From there my sewing has evolved with my life - I went on to making my own clothes, bags, costumes for the school show, ball gowns, bridal gowns, curtains, cushions, baby clothes, quilts ...... and now teaching my very own Little People.
Take a look around, I hope you will be inspired. Have fun and let your Little People lead the way!
