SEWING ON PAPER - PRACTICING SEWING MACHINE CONTROL
Use these free printables to practice following lines with a sewing machine, and more importantly foot control. Start by setting up the sewing machine unthreaded - you will be able to see how well your Little One can follow the lines by the holes punched in the paper by the needle. This is a great exercise to help get confident with controlling the feed of fabric (or in this case paper) as well as controlling the amount of foot pressure needed to control the speed of the sewing machine. And it's lots of fun! If your Little One is just starting out using a sewing machine, or is having trouble following the lines - start with a blank sheet of paper for them to practice controlling the machine without the challenge of following the lines.
The key is to have fun - go at the pace of your Little One. Enjoy.
